
It’s happening. Slowly but surely bands that play hard instrumental rock are winning me over. Acts like The Big Sleep and Russian Cicles have already earned my stamp of approval, and another band making waves in the instrumental pool, Battles, could be next. But 65daysofstatic have to be my favorite. I wrote a little something about them back in February as I caught up on one of their previous releases, and not they have a new one slated to hit US shores.
The new album has a bunch more face melting songs on it, the highlights for me so far have been , “When We Were Younger And Better” and the long winded, but actually short (for these guys) song, “The Distant And Mechanised Glow OF Eastern European Dance Parties”. The band was also a guest for WOXY.com during this years SXSW festival in March. You can check out the entire post recap here, but I have also highlighted a song below for download from the session.
