Today we take a peek at Aberdeen City out of Boston with our Desdemona Feature. Here is a catch up version on the band if you are unfamiliar.
- The quartet formed in Boston in 2001, after the paths of its founding members crossed and re-crossed.
- Throwing caution to the wind and while still in their twenties, the members of Aberdeen City built upon their individual frustrations to create a swirling, hypnotic rock sound. In 2003, the band self-released the We Learned by Watching EP. Two years later, Aberdeen City issued The Freezing Atlantic, their first album for Dovecote.
- Aberdeen City has shared the stage with the likes of Stellastarr*, British Sea Power, The National, Elefant, The Go! Team, and We Are Scientists.
Quoteable – “These guys are no amateurs. Solid handle on melody and great hooks. You gotta love bands where three of the members look all serious and professional — and then there’s the one disoriented-looking guy in torn jeans playing his guitar with his teeth. Sweet.” Chart Attack (Canada)
