The French duo Air is back with their 6th full length album, but the first since 2004′s Talkie Walkie. As always, the bands
sound is incredibly layered with electronica and instrumental melodies. If you are a fan of the band, it will please you to know that this album is something that easily fits in well with the rest of the bands catalouge. the song, Once Upon A Time especially is reminiscent of something that could have partnered well with Cherry Blossom Girl from Talkie Walkie.
Former Pulp frontman and now solo artist Jarvis Cocker also appears on One Hell Of A Party, although its certainly not a tune to spin during your party, as it seems to be examining the come down the morning after an all nighter. Neil Hannon (of The Divine Comedy) also lends vocals on another somewhat depressing song, “Somewhere Between Waking and Sleeping”. Overall, the album can drag at times, but this shouldn’t be new territory for Air fans. Pocket Symphony is out in the US tomorrow from Astralwerks.
