A really wonderful release to gush about today on DVD. This one pre-dates me, but the music of Johnny Cash is known and
respected by many generations, and I have always counted myself as a big fan of the Man In Black. The DVD is The Best Of The Johnny Cash Show from 1969-1971 and if features some of the most influential musicians of our time.
I just watched the better part of the two discs and am blown away at how incredible this thing is. Some of the featured artists include Bob Dylan, Louis Armstrong, Neil Young (his national television debut), James Taylor, Ray Charles, Hank Williams Jr., Joni Mitchell, Carl Perkins and many many more. What may be even more exciting is I have a copy of the 2 Disc DVD that I want to give away to you here on Each Note Secure.
To get registered, just leave a comment with your favorite Johnny Cash song. I will pick a winner in about a week or so. Good luck and enjoy this video of Johnny and Louis Armstrong, one of the features on the DVD.
There are WAY WAY too many songs to pick just one but I’ll go with: I Still Miss Someone.
Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, definitely! It sets a great scene.
Get Rhythm – Rockabilly at it’s finest
Beans for Breakfast. Or Folsom Prison.
And btw, I think Sunday Morning coming Down is a Kris Kristofferson song–JC just covered it.
My favorite??? Wow. That’s tough. I LOVED all the duets that he did with June. Walk the Live, Boy Named Sue, PEACE IN THE VALLEY!!!
It’s definitely Cry! Cry! Cry! Nice giveaway Joe
Give My Love To Rose – a great JC tearjerker.
I hope I win this DVD. I remember watching that show like it was religion…well, actually it was.
That’s a tough one! I guess I will go with Folsom Prison Blues.
I don’t remember covers being excluded. It’s a great song no matter who wrote it. Johnny brings it to life.
“delia’s gone”…the first song on the first disk that i ever owned by cash…stark, impassioned, human.
Favorite: I walk the Line; life inspirational for all troubled persons and provides a chance to move on.

Hurt is my favorite song.
