Bound Stems came across my radar thanks to Mike from WOXY. He has said that this is his favorite album of the year, and I am starting to see why.
Bound Stems makes rock music with beautiful guitar hooks and a drum pattern (cortesy of ex Harvey Danger member Evan Sult) that seems to veer off the road and corrects itself just in time to make you believe the diversion was part of the plan all along. And that seems to sum up the journey that is “Appreciation Night” which hits streets today courtesy of Flameshovel Records.
Like I said, I came at it a bit late on this Chicago group, but the tunes im digesting now are satisfying to say the least. Here are two tracks from Appreciation Night.
Bound Stems – Refuse the Refuse
Bound Stems – Wake Up, Ma and Pa are gone
And dont forget to head on over to Daytrotter today, Sean has impeccable timing, or I do, cant decide. At any rate, Bound Stems are featured today.
