Bowerbirds - Hymns For A Dark Horse

One of the most respected songwriters out there these days has to be John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats, and whenever he lobs a compliment of this magnitude anyones way, I stand up and take notice.bowerbirds.jpg

“My favorite new band in forever” - John Darnielle

That was the quote John used to describe Bowerbirds, a trio out of Raleigh, North Carolina. They are a band that has toured the country quite a bit already, hitting many coffee shops and small clubs along the way. Their sound is folky, earthy and the lyrics well thought out and comfortable. This is their debut album, and it can be had from Burly Time Records this summer, July 10.

The band has been and continues to be on the road right now, playing dates with The Rosebuds, The Ladybug Transistor and The Clientele. Here are the remaining dates…..
