The superstar Conor Oberst that is now better known as Bright Eyes, is certainly the man most responsible for putting Saddle Creek Records on the map. So its no surprise that SC is releasing a bit of a unreleased tracks album in an attempt to herd in all those Bright Eyes fans that may have strayed since his last release. Noise Floor is a group of songs that didnt make the cut or were b-side type tunes that are now labeled “rarities” from the Bright Eyes back catalouge. The vinyl is due out Sept 25 in the UK from Saddle Creek the CD on Oct 9. you can pre-order it here.
That link also brings you to the page featuring the LP of this release, looks nice, here are some details on that.
Noise Floor collects selected Bright Eyes singles, one-offs, unreleased tracks, collaborations and covers recorded between 1998 and 2005. Variously recorded to cassette four-track, minidisc, reel-to-reel, tape machine, ADAT and computer, these songs trace Bright Eyes’ evolution from basement project to band of international repute. Many of these gems previously lost to out-of-print obscurity are hereby resurrected.
