Too many acts to put in the title of this post but Friday night was a great night for music here in Cincinnati. The Poison Room hosted a slew of great acts, starting with Dan Meecher, the leadman from the Turnbull ACs. Dan played some Turnbull tunes and tested out a few new songs as well. I had yet to see Dan do his thing solo and it was quite enjoyable. Sounds like the future is bright for Dan and Turnbull based on the new tunes I heard.

Next up was De Novo Dahl, who I had seen a bit earlier in the day in the WOXY lounge. The 5 piece donned the uniforms I thought I might see earlier in the day when they stuck with thier street clothes. The kicked the energy level up a ton and brought the crowd out of thier seats and onto the dancefloor. They once again did lots of new tunes and got me thinking about thier new one again.

The boys from Captain of Industry ended the night with a rousing set. Im a big fan of Nathan and the guys from Dayton and they played a very consistent and rollickin set kept things energized. Nathan even obliged me and began the set with the same Neil Young cover I had heard him do earlier this year in Indy, “Only Love Can Break Your Heart”.

The only downside of the night was that the place should have been packed, but you never know what you are gonna get in Cincinnati, its truly a crapshoot.
