I, like many others, had been hearing about how Cincinnati band Walk The Moon was going to be featured on Carson Daly soon. They got some great attention during their first tour of SXSW last month and the news that a big national outlet like this would give them some time was great. But after finally getting to watch the feature, I’m really impressed. It isn’t some “quick montage” of the buzz bands at the festival, but rather a full couple minute feature on Walk The Moon.

We wrote about them back in November, right before the release of their debut album, which is great. They got some really favorable local press but the floodgates didn’t really open until the band signed with Mick Management. The power of a well known management company can really get your places, and this is a perfect example. Mick also manages the likes of John Mayer, Ray Lamontagne and The Walkmen.

So congratulations to another hometown band making a national rise, and like Daly says in the video, a label deal is right around the corner.
