One thing Cincinnati isn’t probably known for is dirty punk rock (no offense to Cincy Punk Fest, which is great.) That’s not to say they haven’t had their fair share of it through the years, but it has never been big enough to rival the garage rock or even pop music scene here in the Queen City. VACATION wants to change that. Or at least, they want you to know they are here and brandishing their brand of noisy punk music.

Last week, Heartless Bastards returned home and played a great acoustic set for the crowd at Southgate House in Newport. Our photographer Keith Klenowski was on hand and sent over a few photos and a video from the show. The video features Erika doing a great Bob Dylan cover of the song “You Ain’t Goin Nowhere.” Enjoy!

I like when events are a unique feel to them. I also like whiskey. So it’s no surprise that I really like what I see with this event. This Saturday night at Northside Tavern you get a chance to try some great whiskeys and then hear some …

When it comes to historic hip hop groups, the impact that Black Star had on their time period is difficult to top. Even though they only released one album over the course of a few years together, Black Star’s rise came at a crucial time. In the late …

We like to tell you about concerts coming to town that we care about here on ENS, and this one is no exception. But it does have a different spin on it than most other shows that come to town. The difference is that not only does this show / tour have a corporate sponsor, but it was apparently curated by The Black Lips.
