There aren’t many people that are as big fans of The Radio Dept. as me. Ok, maybe one guy I know in particular, but other than that, I’d like to think I rank pretty high on the list. After the band gave us the incredible teaser that was the “David” single last year, I was more than ready for a new full length album from the Swedish band.

When The Besnard Lakes first crossed our radar back in 2007, it seemed like the hip thing to do in indie rock was to sound like a drugged out version of The Beach Boys. Bands like Panda Bear did it and when folks got their first listen to The Besnard Lakes, they lumped their sound in with Panda Bear and other groups of the moment who discoved their parents old Beach Boys albums and added a dark veil to the approach.

We have another great giveaway to share today here on ENS for another great concert. The show is this Saturday night at the Southgate House In Newport and it features RJD2. We talked about the new album from RJD2, The Collossus, a couple weeks ago and are really excited to hear the new material live.

One of the most sought after musicians in the Cincinnati area has to be Reuben Glaser. In addition to fronting one of our favorite bands in the area in the last decade, Pearleane, Glaser has found himself contributing in small and big ways to several other notable albums to come out of the Queen City in recent years as well.
