It’s hot and humid in the midwest and especially in Ohio this summer. For some reason there are certain bands and music that lend themselves better to the summer heat, and I think Cloud Nothings is one of those groups.

Cincinnati boys Alone At 3AM have some new stuff on the way, and thats music to our ears as summer continues. We really enjoyed their debut album City Out Of Luck, which came out in 2008 on the Tiberius label but felt it was criminally overlooked by the city overall.

Cincinnati based 5-piece Enlou are back with a brand new summer release that is due to come out at the end of July. Enlou, who are friends with Pomegranates, and even share a label with them in Lujo Records will be releasing the Body Of Friends, Body Of Water EP and we have a song from the EP to share with you today.

Alan Palomo’s Neon Indian project started almost by accident. But since the release Neon Indian’s widely-acclaimed debut album Psychic Chasms in 2009, Palomo’s music has taken the indie music; and increasingly, the pop music; world by storm with festival dates, high-profile collaborations, and even a special single release with Mountain Dew’s Green Label. Palomo, who was already performing refined electronic pop under the name VEGA, watched his bedroom-based weirdo synth-pop side project grow into a full-fledged touring force, complete with blog buzz and critical accolades.

As big fans of most things Wilco here at ENS, we were very saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Jay Bennett last year at the young age of 45. Jay was an incredibly talented musician who deserves alot of credit for records like Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel …
