It’s that time of year again. Time for music to take over in Over The Rhine. MidPoint Music Festival is back and is planning to throw a real party this year to celebrate thier 10th anniversary. It’s been a really interesting ‘Decade of Audio Addiction’ (the festivals tagline this year) and even though it wasn’t always pretty, the festival is still standing ten years later and is arguably better than it has ever been.

One of the greatest songwriters of the past several decades played a concert in Cincinnati last week, and cemented his place in the hearts and minds of his fans. I was lucky enough to be in attendance, and have a few thoughts to share about my experience.

Last week, Heartless Bastards returned home and played a great acoustic set for the crowd at Southgate House in Newport. Our photographer Keith Klenowski was on hand and sent over a few photos and a video from the show. The video features Erika doing a great Bob Dylan cover of the song “You Ain’t Goin Nowhere.” Enjoy!

Yeah, I know I did that with Arcade Fire, who I missed when they played at Southgate House years ago (probably still my biggest concert regret).

On Sunday night, The National closed out MusicNOW if fine fashion, playing a set with old favorites, current classics and a couple songs that we don’t hear from them live very often. One of those was a gem with Sharon Van Etten guesting called “Think You Can Wait” which …
