As I said earlier, it is a busy night for live music here in the Queen City. Son Volt is playing across the river in Newport, and the Indie Summer Series continues on Fountain Square as well. The series really raises their game tonight two, as they boast a national headliner to go along with the always strong stable of local and regional acts.
This evening on the Square, you can first catch The Chocolate Horse starting the evening off at 7pm. The band released an excellent debut album last year, and has another on the way this fall. At 8pm, Cincinnatians Fists Of Love join in on the party and then at 9pm Brian Olive (ex-Greenhornes member) takes the reigns in support of his excellent solo album, which was released this summer on the Alive label.
And then The Fiery Furnaces, the headliner for the night, take the stage at around 10pm. The band released another excellent album this summer called I’m Going Away. I wrote some thoughts about the new record over on The Futurist, have a look.
