When I see a hometown show like this on the calendar, it really makes me miss Cincinnati. Tonight at our beloved Southgate House in Newport, three great bands will be taking the stage to kick off the holiday weekend. Yeah, you know you don’t have to work tomorrow, so what is your excuse for not going out and catching some great live music? Well, your excuse is certainly not the bill, because The Young Republic, Vandaveer and The Seedy Seeds will all be doing their thing tonight.
The Seeds are fresh off of their big weekend at the CEA’s, winning three awards and (as if they needed it) the energy will be really high. In addition, Vandaveer, who released an amazing album earlier this year Divide & Conquer will be performing and The Young Republic (currently based in Nashville) are on the bill as well.
So, don’t miss out tonight and go to some lame bar to see people you went to high school with and have lame conversations while drinking Jagemeister! Go to Southgate House and enjoy some great music instead!

While it is true that the owner of ENS has moved out of Cincy there are quite a few contributors to this site and we all live in Greater Cincinnati.
I would personally like to thank you for visitng our fine site today and sincerly hope you swing back in the coming days to read my review of The Seedy Seeds show that occurs just about (okay, maybe exactly) 0.7 miles from my place of residence.
Nov 25, 2009Really looking forward to the show tonight. Saw Vandeveer for the first time in DC in September, and I cannot wait to see them again. The New Republic should be loads of fun, it’s been a couple of years since I last saw them.
