Cincy Punk Fest is a great tradition we have here in the area that brings lots of great local bands together, and brings in some great acts from outside our area as well. This years festival is the 8th year for Cincy Punk, and it is shaping up to be one of the best.

It takes place April 10th and 11th and this year all proceeds benefit the Animal Adoption Foundation in Harrison, OH. The non-profit, no kill animal shelter has been going strong for 37 years. Follow the link for more info. The event has raised $18,500 for local charities since January 2005 when CP FEST III started the tradition by donating proceeds to Lighthouse Youth Services. Since then they have benefited the Women’s Crisis Center, Mental Health Association, and YMCA’s Core Character Values Program, among others.

The event is sponsored by Cincypunk.org, and the festival is more than just a band showcase. It is a time to take in great music and catch up with old friends. This year will also feature a silent auction featuring items and gift certificates from Shake It Records, Everybody’s Records, Cincinnati Ballet, Jeff Ruby restaurants, Gold Star Chili, Fitworks, and more.

Music begins at 8pm each night on all 3 of The Historic Southgate House stages.
