As I round out my new music listening for the year, it’s always nice to run across a fun indie pop record like the latest from Club 8. The Boy Who Couldn’t Stop Dreaming has been out since early October on the Labrador label, which tends to furnish some of the best swedish indie pop around already, and this album hits that sweet spot right away.
It’s the sixth full length album from the Swedish duo, but the first album since 2003′s Strangely Beautiful, and their first for Labrador Records. Overall, I expected a light and airy affair here, as has been my experience with previous Club 8 tunes, and it stays pretty true to that, but I was surprised at how genuinely fun these songs were.
I’d confidently recommend the tracks, “Heaven”, “Whatever You Want”, and “Football Kids” without hesitation. An easy recommend for fans of bands like The Radio Dept. as well.

Good stuff. The Radio Dept. comparison is right on. The Fingertips blog was also touting them this week.
