c motion Coltrane Motion Songs About Music + Tour Dates
While the title of the new album from Chicago via Cincinnati duo Coltrane Motion would suggest indie irony, it is actually not a stab at that at all. Some of the songs on the new album are indeed about music, although it is certainly not the overarching theme. Lead singer Michael Bond brings the electo pop on this release from his own label, Datawaslost records, of whom ENS has been a fan, (and interviewer of) in the past.

What the duo seem to have created here is a mega melting pot of musical styles and influences, ranging from 90′s shoegaze all the way back to 60′s soul. The mixture is a bit messy the first time through, but after repeated listens the melding becomes not only familiar but really enjoyable.

So sample these two songs from the bands new album, Songs About Music. Also, tour dates are listed below, worth highlighting is a great show tomorrow night here in Cincinnati at Northside Tavern as Coltrane Motion are playing in support of Wussy. Should be a great night!

About

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.
