It’s still the dead cold of winter here in Cincinnati, and the end does not seem anywhere near, so I hope this upcoming concert announcement will help warm things up a bit. Akron/Family continue to set the pace for post-rock / freak folk bands and have a brand new album coming soon as well. The record, titled S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT (yes, that’s the title), is due out February 8th here in the United States from Dead Oceans records.

What is even more exciting is, the band will be making a stop here in Cincinnati to promote the new album, on March 1st, when we are all a little more hopeful about new music and warm weather.
