In their short history, Blitzen Trapper have already released two excellent albums, and seem to still be climbing a very nice upwards arc. The bands 2008 album Furr was one of our favorites of the year and with the guys getting ready to release a new EP this fall, they are hitting the road to support it. “Black River Killer” was one of the best tunes on the 2008 album, and it is also the lead track to their new EP.

In addition to the title track, the Black River Killer EP contains 6 more songs that have been, up to now, only available as a CDR that Blitzen Trapper has been selling at their live performances for the past year or so. The EP is getting a release on August 25th and Blitzen Trapper will be hitting the road with Merge Records duo Wye Oak this fall. Both bands will be here in the Cincinnati area with a show at the Southgate House on October 14th.
