You knew it was coming, right? I think all of us here in Cincinnati knew that our hometown heroes, The Afghan Whigs would return after the announcement that the band was reuniting for a tour. And it seemed to creep closer and closer as more dates were announced. Well, in case you had any doubts, it’s happening, as City Beat reports this morning, the band will be playing a show in October at Bogarts, which also happens to be the last Cincinnati venue The Afghan Whigs played at, all the way back in 1999.
The Whigs mean alot to our city, and to those that grew up listening to them make their mark here and to a much wider audience. I recently wrote a piece for Lollapalooza, where the band are playing in August, about what it means to have them back touring.
But along with the announcement this morning, comes some urgency. The fan pre-sale starts today at Noon and the Friday morning tickets will be available to everyone else. They will cost $33.50 ($45.86 with fees).
The show is October 25th at Bogarts.
The fan pre-sale, which is about to start at Noon EST is right here, the password for Bogart’s is uptownagain.
