Every now and then a show gets announced here in Cincinnati that really makes me scratch my head. Sometimes I get confused because a show that I know will not do well gets booked on a night that likely ensures it won’t be a big success. And sometimes a show gets booked and I think to myself, wow, how are they gonna fit the people into that venue?
When I saw this show come across my inbox recently, I certainly thought of the latter of those two scenarios. I mean, The Thermals AND Cymbals Eat Guitars, at Northside Tavern, for free? Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining. I’m really excited for this show, and you should be too. The gig is scheduled for October 7th and will almost certainly be maximum capacity unless my calculations are way off. Just in case you needed a reminder why this will be a big show, you can see and hear some reminders below.

Nothing on the Yo La Tengo show at Southgate House this past Saturday? Hope you didn’t miss it; it was an awesome show. Ira Kaplan had some hilarious stage banter and blew me away with his guitar playing. Wussy was good too.
