The excellent third album from British Sea Power gets an official stateside release today from Rough Trade Records. The band are gearing up for a huge tour here in the states as well, hitting nearly every city you can think they should play. That is, with the exception of our fair city of Cincinnati. Another case of a band electing to, for whatever reason, skip over the Queen City in favor of more college oriented towns like Columbus and Louisville.
I won’t speculate as to why Cincy gets hurdled, but I have some thoughts, because after all, this happens alot. At any rate, the new record, Do You Like Rock Music?, is a great listen, and I highly recommend you pick it up today at your local indie record store of choice.

Weird. My comment didn’t post. I’ll try again. Oh, wait, now I see you changed your original post. Come on, tell us why you think that they’re not coming here. Pretty pleeze!
Well, not sure why your comment did not get through earlier, but I did not change this post at all.
Anyway, the reasons for them not stopping here are probably due to not many people actively booking acts here in town. I’d like to think they are a good fit for SGH, but with their booking at Phoenix Hill, they could probably just have sold out Gypsy Hut.
But why to “not many people actively booking acts here in town”? That’s what I want to understand. Oh, and my bad about the changed content of the post. Sorry. I didn’t scroll and read thoroughly. Sorry!

Bands by-passing Cincy gets me riled up Joe, you know it… Guess I’ll be heading out to Louisville, as that is a Friday night, perfect. Pretty stoked as well that the 1900s are opening!
