Well, its all done. Its still hard to beleive that a great music festival just took place in my city. For those of you who just tuned in and all you see is Des coverage over the past weekend plus I may have gone a bit overboard. But hey, I felt as if I had a vested interest in this thing. After all, Im a Cincy Indie Music blogger and this festival celebrated some of the best in indie rock.

The weekend began with the threat of rain and thin crowds througout Friday despite excellent sets from Margot and the Nuclear So Sos and others. The night was topped off by the Wu’s own Ghostface Killah who did not dissapoint, even for the hip hop challenged.

Rouge Wave
Saturday the event seemed to pick up steam as the weekenders from around town began to show up. The music was loads of fun again with Mates of State dodging the hot summer sun and Annie bringing some electro-norwegian flavor to the evening festivities.

Sunday however was the day I had been looking forward to most and it was worth the wait. One after another the bands took Desdemona to the next level last night. Heartless Bastards showed some local pride with a stand out set highlighted by the one, the only Erika Wennerstrom. Rouge Wave was quite impressive not long after and the follow up from The Stills had me almost worn out before 7pm.

The evening brought out the Fiery Furnaces and The Walkmen, both played amazing sets, likely the best two sets of the weekend in this bloggers opinon. Im still in recovery mode but I wanted to share a my flickr photo set here.
WAS

Also wanted to give an incredibly impersonal yet sincere “great to meet you” to the bloggers who were in attendance. They have all done an amazing job with coverage of the fest as well.

I know there were also other worthy bloggers I didnt get to meet in attendance.
The Walkmen
Here are the recordings of the shows Ive found so far, Im sure many more will follow as I saw a few tapers at almost every set.
