dr.dog Dr. Dog Signs To Anti Records, Coming To Cincinnati
We are big fans of the Philadelphia based band Dr. Dog, so it’s great news for them today as it comes down that they will be taking their brand of sunny 60′s influenced pop to Anti Records. After releasing their first four albums on the Park The Van label, the guys will be releasing a brand new on early in 2010 on with Anti.

“Each album we’ve made was the best one we could have made at the time and I don’t have any regrets,” McMicken says. “But something has changed. We’ve never really recorded as a band before. We started as a recording project but over the years we’ve become a real band. We tour all the time and we have this certain place we fall into. And I think we’re ready to use that as a reference point now”

In addition, the guys will be playing a city near you this fall, and their tour dates include a stop in the Cincinnati area at the Mad Hatter in Covington, KY on October 15th. All of the upcoming dates listed after the jump…..

this is awesome news. can’t wait for this show. it’ll epic seeing them in such a tiny place like the mad hatter. i’ve seen ‘em twice, both in 2007: at bonnaroo with nearly 5,000 other people and in l’ville when they opened for wilco at slugger field…

#2 euro60 :

Saw them at Coachella this year. Excellent, excellent band. Too bad it’s not the next day (a Friday evening) as otherwise I’d be there for sure. Doubt I will make it on a week-day.

i’ve been a huuuuuuge fan of dr. dog since i first heard easy beat 3 years ago. and their last album hasn’t been taken off my iPod since i got it last summer…was in my top 5 of ’08. and for them to be signed to the same label as TOM WAITS is a rare accomplishment.
