Earl Greyhound - Soft Targets

Soft TargetsLots of music comes across my desk here and as a result Im sure plenty of it gets lost in the shuffle and doesnt get its due. Earl Greyhound deserves some attention, even if its a bit different than alot of the artists you hear about here. EG manages to bring alot of classic rock sound to an indie market, and they do it quite well. Earl Greyhound is made up of Matt Whyte on guitar, vocals; Kamara Thomas plays bass, and does some vocals, while Ricc Sheridan is on percussion and sings a bit himself. For those of you out there that heard Wolfmother for the first time and thought….finally. Well, Earl Greyhound is for you. I can also hear a bit of the blues infused rock that has made The Black Keys so amazing. And of course, the Zeppelin influence is obvious.

And for those of you that dont care for the classic rock thing, you still might find it way too fun to dismiss, I know I did. Ill hit you with two songs and let you decide for yourself, but be prepared to get your rock on.

I got these songs from you a couple days ago and I can’t stop listening to them. Thanks for the intro. You gotta love a band that can reference Zeppelin, the Beatles, and T.S. Eliot all in about fifteen seconds of rawk.

I bet these guys are unbelievable live.
