Great concert news today as we have just learned that Elvis Costello will be playing a show in Cincinnati this spring! Back in 1986, Costello came up with the idea to do a game show type of concert where he
had dozens of song titles on a spinning wheel and incorporated them into the experience. At the time, Costello had nowhere near the catalog that he does now, spanning a quarter century and over twenty albums. Audience members will be chosen to come onstage to spin this wheel and have their selections performed.
“Elvis Costello and the Spectacular Spinning Songbook” will be making a stop in Cincinnati as a part of the tour, at the Taft Theatre on May 16 at 8:00pm! Tickets, $45, $50, and $65, will go on sale this Friday, February 18 at 10:00am at all Ticketmaster locations including the Taft Theatre box office, all Ticketmaster outlets including select Kroger stores, ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
UPDATE!!! After the great news of the Costello show yesterday, today we have even better news to add. We have a pair of tickets to give away to the show and would love to give them to you! All you have to do is “like” this post on Facebook, (the icon is at the top and bottom of this post) and send an email to enscontests at gmail dot com. In the email, tell us what song you would choose to have Elvis play if you were at the show spinning the wheel. Good luck!

Joe, you DO realize this is the very same evening of The Twilight Singers show at the SGH?
Maybe time for another classic “double-header”: go to Elvis Costello first, he should finish up around 11 pm at the latest, then head over to the SGH, as I figure the Twilight SIngers won’t come on until 11:30 at the earliest! (NOTE TO SELF: Keep dreaming, boy! Who’s gonna finance that? And have you forgotten that you need to go to work the next morning?)
