There are certain artists that just cannot turn their artistic juices off. Some that comes to mind include Ryan Adams, Joseph Arthur and Jason Molina. Artists that are always writing or creating music, no matter what. I think it might be safe to include Cincinnati-an Joey Cook into that group as well, as his main band, Pomegranates, have been fairly prolific in the past couple years, due in part to his efforts.

And now, one of Joeys side projects is seeing the light of day as well. The project, called FIRS is a collaboration between Joey and Sophia Cunningham, a friend and fellow music enthusiast who also sits in the WOXY studios behind the mic on Monday nights. FIRS allows the duo to experiment with different instruments and sounds that you might not hear on a more traditional Pomegranates album. Man In Space is the title of the 9-song debut from the FIRS, who you may recall we told you about awhile back.

We are pretty confident that fans of the Poms and beyond will enjoy this, but have a listen for yourself, to this tune “Destroyer Of Worlds” from the new album, out on Lujo Records August 18th.
