Time for the fest! I’m heading to Pitchfork this morning in Chicago, and I hope to see you there as well. If you can’t make it though, follow me on twitter @eachnotesecure and take note of the details below on how to keep up with everything going on, all weekend long.
It’s about 24 hours until the kickoff of this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival, which takes place starting tomorrow at Chicago’s Union Park. In years past, we’ve sent live updates from the festival through our Twitter account, but this year, we’re leaving it up to you: All this weekend, @pitchforkmedia will be retweeting our favorite tweets from the festival. Whether you’re on the grounds or at home watching our live webcast of the two main stages, your witty remarks will be keeping our followers posted. (Be sure to include the #p4kfest hashtag!)
Tickets are still available for Friday and Saturday at the Pitchfork Music Festival box office, located at the Ashland entrance. If you can’t make it to Chicago, fear not: We’ll be webcasting the whole thing live right here on the Pitchfork front page, as well as in our Pitchfork Music Festival section.
If you are heading to the fest, you can make use of the Pitchfork Music Festival mobile app, designed by Diacarta. The app features an official schedule, the ability to set alerts that let you know where and when bands are playing, Facebook and Twitter compatibility, artist info, and a handy map of the festival grounds. It has everything you need– an essential companion to the festival. And best of all, it’s free. Get it here. There won’t be any album reviews on the site tomorrow, but we’ll be back Monday with our regular content, as well as coverage of the festival (including photos, write-ups, video, and more). Stay tuned to the Pitchfork Music Festival section for all of our coverage.
Check out the fest set times below. Note that No Age and Gang Gang Dance have swapped set times since our last report. No Age will now perform Saturday at 3:20pm on the red stage, and Gang Gang Dance will play at 4:15pm on the green stage.
