Next Monday night at the Southgate House, Phoenix and The French Kicks are playing what should be a great show. The only thing about this gig that is different from most is that its invite only. Camel is sponsoring the tour and unless they give you tickets you are out of luck. While Ive heard tickets are floating around town if you are a regular concert goer, you are not guaranteed to get them.
So, lets work around that shall we? ENS is giving away two tickets to this show ! All you have to do to be eligible is leave a comment on this post with a two sentence reason why you should be the winner. I know this is a little cheesy but I just got the go ahead on this and wanted to post right away so the creative juices are exactly flowing for a contest. Plus, this makes it pretty easy on you. Jul 24, 2006The RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company effectively hooked me on their products nearly 10 years ago– primarily through their use of the “Joe Camel” cartoon character. I have yet to receive a ticket for this show nor any other form of compensation from Camel…despite the fact I’ve cut a number of years off my life and spent ungodly amounts of money on fueling this nagging addiction. they owe me this. Joe, you have the opportunity to put an end this injustice in some small way.

*further, I challenge anyone to produce more “C-Notes” (Camel’s equivalent to Marlboro Miles) than I can. If you do, you obviously deserve the honor more.
Jul 25, 2006A friend of mine had an aunt with a wooden leg. She would babysit us often. After a few years ,we were both ten, we decided to challenge her authority over us. Occasionally, she would take off her “leg” because she complained of the nerves in her stump still bothering her.
We seized opportunity when we weren’t allowed outside and stole her leg . We ran outside with it as she hobbled after us.
It is for this undying quest for freedom and the pursuit of happiness that I deserve the exclusive ticket. I am a french kicks fan and I would steal your leg too to go!

My out-of-town cousin, who turned me on to Phoenix, has been looking forward to this show for months. But, sadly, I obtained a ticket online before they sold out while he didn’t, and I’d love to repay his tip by getting him into the show.
