Greg Dulli, frontman for one of the best bands ever to come out of the Queen City, The Afghan Whigs, is returning to Cincinnati tonight for a solo show at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley.
Dulli, who has been back to town several times since the Whigs were a big thing, mostly with one of his other projects, The Twilight Singers, is doing his first solo tour right now in advance of a solo album coming out soon on Sub Pop Records. This is the third stop on Dulli’s first ever solo tour, and so far, the setlists have been pretty amazing if you are a fan of any of his previous projects, or of his love of cover tunes.
Among the songs during this tour so far include “Hyperballad” (Bjork cover), “Bonnie Brae”, “Powder Burns”, “Lights Go Down” (Basement Jaxx cover), “What Jail Is Like” and many more, including new material. Check out both of the first two shows setlists over at Summerskiss.
Spin talks about the tours opening night here.
