As a native of the Cincinnati area, and a former resident of Austin, Texas, I have a sizable place in my heart for both cities. So when the bands from my hometown are planning a trek to Austin for the best music festival in the world, my ears perk up. And that is exactly what is being planned this spring. A couple amazing acts from our neck of the woods, The Sundresses and Wussy, along with Lexington’s Oh My Me are traveling from the Midwest all the way down to Austin and need your help with cash to get it all done.

In order to accomplish their goal, the bands, along with All Night Party here in Cincinnati, have a Kickstarter page up with all the details on their mission. Here is a piece…

A trip like this is not cheap and we want to represent our region as best we can and show off how much support there is for local/regional music in the Midwest. We also want to make sure none of us dig a bigger hole in our pockets than is already there. We’ll need about $4,000 to pay for rental vans, fuel, and lodging and the money raised here will go to the three bands featured in this Kickstarter campaign to help pay for those things – and those things ONLY. Essentially, we’re asking you to buy some music, merch, and/or performances before we leave town.

Of the 4k the group needs, they are already almost one fourth of the way there, in only one day, so lets keep this thing rolling. Support the project with a few extra bucks (or more) and get a nice reward for doing so. All the details are on the Kickstarter page, so head there now to get started.

I think we can all agree that getting more of the Cincinnati music scene down to a huge event like SXSW is a really good thing, so join me in supporting this cause!

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.

#1 Dave Davis :

Thanks for the love, Joe. Looks like the bands have hit the half-way mark! Hopefully they close the gap soon.
