I must say that the Nashville band, Hotpipes, had not previously crossed my radar. The band had a debut album out in 2005 called “The Deadly Poison”, however, I cant say Ive heard a whole lot from or about them. The second album from the band however, is not only on the radar, but is making its way into my personal heavy rotation.
The self titled disc from the 5 piece is the kind of indie pop I gravitate towards, complete with snarky lyrics and addictive hooks. But with some nice guitar edge mixed in just in case you thought they were soft, cause they arent.
See what you think of the two tracks below, and make sure you head over to the Southgate House tomorrow night for the CD release party forHotpipes new album. The Features and The Turnbull ACs are supporting them, a very strong bill for a very reasonable price of 6$.
