For those of you who saw the title of this post and thought, “wow, sounds like a great mashup” Im sorry, I dont have one to offer. Rather its a decision for those of us in the Cincinnati area today as both Joseph Arthur and Sunset Rubdown are playing.
Arthur takes the stage tonight in support of his recently released gem, Nuclear Daydream, which we spoke about here, at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley. Sunset Rubdown, the solo project of Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade fame, will be playing on the south side of the river at The Southgate House in Newport. Whats a blogger to do? Its certainly not an easy decision and I wont attempt to make both since I would probably miss the majority of one to see only part of the other.
Even I am unsure at this point, you’ll have to turn in tomorrow and see which one I chose, if you are in the Cincy area I encourage you to make it out to one of these gigs, should be a great night of music. Check out a few tunes and also a video of Micheal Stipe joining Arthur onstage for In the Sun recently in New York.

“The band played the whole of their debut LP, Shut Up I Am Dreaming, as well as a couple of new songs. The fact that these new songs were my favorites of the night is almost scary. I mean, how much more can this guy improve?”
