What does local singer songwriter Kim Taylor have in common with current buzz band Passion Pit, well known cycling enthusiasts Blind Pilot, and Scot rockers Frightened Rabbit? All four were recently given the nod by Paste Magazine as they made the annual “Best of What’s Next” list in the August issue.

In the article Paste draws comparisons between Kim and other local favorite Over the Rhine and explores a bit of the relationship between them. It also mentions Kim’s recent EP The Greatest Story and teases us about a new full length album which she hopes to release by the end of 2009.

Kim just made it back from a recent tour with Kasey Chambers and will be closing out the Indie Summer Concert Series on Fountain Square on Friday, September 4. Other “Best of What’s Next” artists coming to town soon include Those Darlins (in support of Cowboy Mouth) on September 10 and Jenny Owen Youngs (in support of Mae) on October 29 both at Southgate House.
