Kings Of Leon have a new album, Because of The Times on the horizon and if the first single, “On Call” is any indication, it could be their best yet. (download below) The band, who have already hit it big overseas and have had every show they have performed in sell out over there, have yet to achieve the same US success. Here is a quote about that from a recent Harp Magazine interview…..
“Every concert we’ve ever played in the U.K. has sold out,” says bassist Jared Followill. “It’s pretty crazy when we’re there. We have to stay in our hotel all day because we really can’t leave. If less than 200 kids come over the barricade at the show, it’s a slow night.”
And in response to the US not embracing the band with the same intensity.
“At first, it bothered us a little bit just because you go from not being able to go anywhere without a security guard to coming here and the only person that recongnizes you in the airport when you get home is your mom”
Kings of Leon will be looking to be a bit more recognizable in the near future with their gig at Bonnaroo this summer, and have announced a full slate of tour dates, listed below.
