Looking for another Ohio based band to stand alongside The National, The Greenhornes, The Black Keys and others? Well, once again, youve come to the right place as today Id like to humbly recommend the Lab Partners. These guys from Dayton, Ohio are oft compared with early shoegazer/spacepop acts like Spaceman3 or My Bloody Valentine, and the comparison fits to a degree. Formed way back in 98′ their success took off a few years back after the release of the full length Daystar LP and opening slots for BRMC. Their 2005 release, Wicked Branches, released on Reverb Records is a very nice listen as well for the band. Also of note is that the band has no bass player, (nor do they need one) but the untrained ear would probably not even notice as the synthesized keys fill the void quite well.
