It’s always a good thing to see some Ohio boys make it, even if it is in the indie world. The band known as Machine Go Boom are Ohio natives, doing their thing in various club scenes from Cleveland to Columbus and down here to Cincinnati as well. Frontman Mikey Machine produces homemade indie pop with lyrics that are easy to grasp and hang with throughout this album. The title is “Music For Parents” and is flexible enough to include tunes that are straight forward rockers (Build Me A Ladder), hand-clapping sing alongs (800 LB Gorilla) and sugary indie pop nuggets (M.I.A.).
It’s the first release for Machine Go Boom since the bands 2004 debut “Thank You Captain Obvious” and its hitting indie store tomorrow, April 10th, via Collectible Escalators. Here are two MP3s for you to sample as well.
