The first I heard of Margot and the Nuclear So Sos I thought, what a horrid, way to long name for a band. However, upon review of the album, “The Dust of Retreat” and the reasoning for the band name, (Margot Tenenbaum from Wes Andersons The Royal Tenenbaums is the inspiration), I became a fan. This eight piece outfit was formed and is still based in Indianapolis and Ive also got a soft spot for a nice midwestern based band. So, on to the tunes. The thing about these guys is that they really dont do anything too unique or different from many indie rock bands in thier class but do manage to catch the ear and stay latched on.

I can admit to multiple listens of The Dust of Retreat in past month and have no qualms about recommending it to you dear ENS reader. So, have a taste for yourself, if you like, Artemis Records is releasing the album on March 28th. This is actually a re-release now that Artemis is the label of choice for the band.
