This indie pop band, once a trio, now sporting four members, are back and are prepping their third full length album. The band was originally formed out of the remains of The Dismemberment Plan and The Promise Ring and seem to have found the right amount of cohesiveness to succeed together. Maritime’s last album, We The Vehicles, was a underrated gem back in 2006 and I am hoping for another one out of their upcoming release.
The new album will be titled Heresy and the Hotel Choir and hits stores on October 16th. The new one will be their second release on the excellent Flameshovel Records label also. Here are two songs from the new album to get you excited, and one from We The Vehicles as well just for good measure.
Maritime – Guns of Navarone
Maritime – Science Fiction

I dig this, dude. I apparently missed them the last time around, but this is cool stuff.
O, how I miss the Dismemberment Plan! Especially after the painful Travis Morrison solo effort… but he has more promising stuff on the way, from what I’ve heard…
I doubt it’ll ever match with Death and Dismemberment Tour. (by far the best touring duo/name I’ve ever seen – them and Death Cab
…) But hope springs eternal!
