Great news today concerning indie rock band Mason Proper. The Michigan boys
released their debut album, “There Is A Moth In Your Chest” last year on their own indie label called Mang Chung Records and began to tour. The fruits of the tour were great, and included a Lounge Act performance on WOXY, some great live sets, and caught the ear of Dovecote Records at a NYC gig.
Dovecote signed the band and sent them home to re-mix and slightly re-work their album with John O’Mahoney (Metric, Matt Pond PA.) The results are really fantastic. The release will be the first for Dovecote since the last Aberdeen City disc and the release has a special Cincinnati tie to it. The album will see an official release on March 13th and has an exclusive pre-sale at local indie record store Shake It Records. The band has drawn comparisions to The Flaming Lips and even Death Cab for Cutie. The guys are also excited to announce a string of tour dates, some of those with Voxtrot, in the coming months. Dates listed below.
