This year marks the 10th anniversary of the MidPoint Music Festival here in Cincinnati, and as we noted on Twitter this morning, the initial artist lineup for this years festivities will be announced today.
In the years since City Beat took the festival reigns, they have brought in bands like Surfer Blood, Holy F*ck, Best Coast, A Place To Bury Strangers, Ted Leo, Jason Isbell, Caribou, Chairlift, Van Dyke Parks and more local and regional bands of note to mention.
So this year should be another step forward for the festival and we are curious to know what the bookers have in store for us this year.
***UPDATE*** Here are the bands already announced for this years festival.
Cut Copy
Xiu Xiu
Toro Y Moi
Washed Out
Deerhoof
The Dodos

Mansions On The Moon
Whatcha think? Pretty nice first round in my opinion. Alot of bands that have been here a few times, but a couple that are new to the area, Cut Copy stands out as one of those. Of the early list I think I’m most excited about Cut Copy, Low Anthem, Washed Out, Toro Y Moi and Viva Voce. You?
Good point, man I wish we were getting Explosions, that would be amazing
Great initial batch!! I personally am super-psyched to seeing Cut Copy again (saw them at Monolith in 2008). “Zonosccpe” is one of the better albums of 2011 so far. Never seen the Low Anthem (I need to check out there new album, love the first one), so that’s a major plus for me.
Other bands I wouldn’t mind being added on the bill:
Eulogies
White Lies
Monford and Sons (probably too big by now)
Eisley
The Human league (for old times sake, but they do have a new album out)
Mansions on the Moon puts on a stellar performance. I saw them open for Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa back in April. Very pumped to see them again!

Pretty much the exact same lineup as Pygmalion except that Pygmalion also has Explosions In The Sky and a bunch of Polyvinyl bands (Japandroids, Owen, Braid, Asobi Seksu).
