Minus Story - My Ion Truss + Tour Dates

If you were at all of the Lawrence, Kansas band known as Minus Story, then please do read on, because what the band have in store for you on their next album is certainly raising the stakes. While I cannot say I was much aware of these guys until their 2005 release No Rest For Ghosts, the band have been recording together since 2001.

What the five piece are able to achieve on this new record however, is not only a step forward, but is a sonic gem. The sounds and layers of sound throughout the album make it a disc that deserves repeated listens to truly appreciate its mastery. And while one or two songs stand out right away, (see Stich Me Up below) the majority of the album is meant to be consumed and digested at a slower rate. And that is not surprising considering the band enlisted the help of producer John Congleton (Explosions In the Sky, Polyphonic Spree) for My Ion Truss.

The album sees a release on June 19th through Jagjaguwar records, but if you want to get a jump on it, head over to the JJ site now and stream the whole thing for free.
