Mobius Band Free Valentines Day EP Of Covers + Tour Dates with Editors

It has been quite a run in the past year or so for Mobius Band. They released an love_2web.jpgexcellent album, Heaven on the Misra label, and toured their collective asses off. They recently announced a bunch more tour dates in the UK with Editors as well (all of which are listed after the jump).

And today, as a special Valentines Day treat, the band have released a digital only FREE EP on their website of cover tunes. Check out the tracklisting……

    What’s with the latest trend of cover albums with songs that no one knows? I swear I can just about recognize 3 tunes from the Cat Power album and maybe 2 from this one…don’t get me wrong, it’s great stuff but still…

    Well, it could be due to the fact that so many songs have been covered so often. But in this case, the Daft Punk, National and Daniel Johnston songs are very familiar.

    it’s not just the hits that speak to everyone…these are excellent songs and the covers of them are simple yet innovative and urgent. i’m all for it…if you just listened to classic rock radio you’d think there were only 10 beatles songs, but the deep cuts are oft
