 [MPMF 2012] Artist Capsule: Krill

Boston’s Krill make deliriously disheveled indie rock. Their sloppily frantic treble notes, off-kilter drums, and strained vocals remind me of bands on Brooklyn’s Famous Class record label from a few years ago; bands like Snakes Say Hiss and Huxtables. I’ve always had a soft spot for these weirdo guitar pop groups who channel the feeling of eating Pop Tarts for dinner, getting high while playing Sega Genesis, and playing rambshackle guitar rock in your basement with your friends.

In short, Krill are a lot of fun. They manage to filter a lot of catchy tunes through their own unique scuzzy lense. Krill’s debut album, Alam No Hris, is available online now.

About

John Crowell began writing for Each Note Secure in 2009. He writes interviews and live reviews. Because he likes things that are weird for the sake of being weird, he is Each Note Secure’s resident aggressively unpleasant music enthusiast.

When not on the internet, John enjoys drinking banana daiquiris.
