NPR: “For the L.A. band Lord Huron, there’s far more to music than merely playing sweetly summery, rhythmically inventive pop. There’s also an air of mystery: a desire to tell stories, play with identities and craft visuals to complement its sounds.”
Lord Huron’s gorgeous atmospheric pop is ideal for helping you transition from summer to fall. Frontman Ben Schneider’s background in visual arts is reflected in Lord Huron’s music, as one listen of their upcoming full-length album Lonesome Dreams instantly paints a lush and vivid landscape of the West.
In a recent interview with PORTALS, Schneider said he “approached ‘Lonesome Dreams’ as a series of frontier stories, an anthology of pulp western tales.” Their latest video, which is more of a short film, for their single “Time to Run” reinforces that idea. The lush, cinematic Western is set in the Mohave Desert, and captures both the visual and narrative aspect of their music.
