The time has come. MusicNOW is back in Cincinnati and suddenly, all is right with the world. For it’s fifth act, the MusicNOW festival is prepared to bring you its best lineup to date this year, and ENS plans to be there every step of the way to enjoy and to document the festivities again this year.
The first night of performances over at the always welcoming Memorial Hall bring plenty of talent to the stage, and I am going out on a limb a bit when I say that this will be the best opening night of MusicNOW ever. I know, some big shoes to fill, but I think everyone is up to the challenge. So lets take a quick look at who is taking the stage, shall we?
Robin Pecknold – Do you like Fleet Foxes? Yeah, I know, they are pretty amazing right? Well, to the average indie kid, Robin Pecknold might just be one of the bearded dudes with killer harmonies in Fleet Foxes, but he is really much more. Pecknold is out opening for Joanna Newsom right now, and since Newsom plays Tuesday night Robin will be opening with a solo set.

Joanna Newsom – One of the most polarizing artists in the indie-sphere right now takes the stage with her harp and unique vocals. We here at ENS are big fans and have been since the Milk-Eyes Mender days so this will be a big thrill for us. Joanna’s new album Have One On Me is in heavy rotation right now and we cannot wait to hear some of the material live.
