That Andrew Bird show was great, and The National at Bonnaroo - the culmination of an untoppable first night. I'm upset I missed out on Music Now this year, but that is one mistake I won't make twice. I'll definitely be there in 2008. Josh Ritter a Southgate was a definite highlight for me this year, along with Flaming Lips at the Roo and of course my run with Kings of Leon. A really fun year I must say. Joe, great list. Not to sound cheesy, but it was a magical three days. Can't wait to hear what the lineup is for 2008... I agree that it was a spotty year of sorts for national act live music in Cincy. I feel like I went to 7 or 8 shows in March and none the rest of the year. Oh well, all the more time to check out local bands! The masses demand more end-of-year lists! I agree that it was a spotty year of sorts for national act live music in Cincy. I feel like I went to 7 or 8 shows in March and none the rest of the year. Oh well, all the more time to check out local bands!

I've posted my top 10 in the Music Discussion WOXY thread, which I'll have to revise now, given my experience last night for Peter Bjorn & John/The Besnard Lakes. Let me echo as well that I find it harder and harder to go on the road to any of the neighboring cities (Columbus, Louisville, Indy) for shows. It's just too hard. I only did it twice this year: Bright Eyes, and Arctic Monkeys, both of them in Columbus, which is less that 90 min. door to door from where I live (Blue Ash). Nice list Joe!
