Here at ENS, we have been big fans of Jolie Holland for quite some time now. So naturally, we are pretty stoked that Jolie has a new album in the works. The new album is titled The Living And The Dead and is due out October 7th. And I am really digging the first song to surface from the new album, “Mexico City” which not only showcases Holland’s unique and brilliant voice, but also features M. Ward on guitar.

For those that really loved Holland and her voice on albums like Catalpa will dig this song as well, but the extra instrumentation and a kick from some cowboy boots make this one an immediate winner for me.
