If you happened to catch Buffalo Killers during Memorial Day weekend on the Metromix Stage during Taste Of Cincinnati, you know they played one of the best sets of the weekend. The Cincinnati trio was as polished as ever during their set, which included a bunch of new material. I spoke with the guys afterwards and they seemed really excited about the new album coming out this summer.

The first time I heard UME, I became a fan. The first time I saw UME perform live, I became a big fan. The Austin based band has been at the front of the pack in my mind for a few years now, so it’s exciting to welcome them back to the Cincinnati area tonight for a show at the Mad Hatter in Covington.

Some interesting news out of Clifton today as the historic venue Bogarts has a brand new ‘venue within a venue’ to promote. The news got me thinking about a conversation I have on a regular basis with music friends around the city. Can Bogarts rebuild their image?

The MidPoint Indie Summer music series is now a summer staple on Friday nights here in town. And each year, the bands that we get to see for free just get better and better. We let you in on the news that the initial artists had been announced back in April, and now the full slate is out there to look forward to.

Have you ever heard a band, really fallen for them, but then waited to see them live until they were either charging too much for tickets or were playing a really massive venue? Yeah, I know I did that with Arcade Fire, who I missed when they played at Southgate House years ago (probably still my biggest concert regret).
